PREVIEW: GEM AND JAM FESTIVAL
Gem & Jam is back! After a three year hiatus, Infinite Music, Euphonic Conceptions, Challenger Presents, and New Earth Muziq herald the highly anticipated return of the 7th Annual Tucson Gem & Jam Festival, Feb 7- 9, 2013. From 6 pm until 2 am each night, the latest Gem & Jam incarnation will feature some of the freshest, most progressive electronic/dance acts in the nation, in addition to cutting edge artwork and mind-blowing event production. Gem and Jam Festival is proud to announce to a new and much larger venue at 1102 W. Grant, Tucson, AZ. for this year’s event!!
Boasting indoor and outdoor stages, Gem & Jam offers fans a nonstop slate of national acts and up-and-comers dropping tracks across the dance music spectrum. Representing the worlds of hip-hop, glitch, psychedelic, and bass music, headliners include Michal Menert, Vibesquad, Random Rab, Polish Ambassador, DJ Vadim, heRobust, Russ Liquid, Thriftworks, Signal Path, Kaminanda, Project Aspect, Octopus Nebula, Flying Skulls, Robotic Pirate Monkey, Kruza Kid, Digital Connection, Future Simple Project, Bogl, Smash & Grab, Kyma, Smokovich, NVO, Upwords Movement, Afro Monk, Ill Mannered, kLL sMTH, as well as local acts Electric Feel DJs, Corbin Dooley, Phoseph, 8 Minutes To Burn, The Bennu, Endoplasmic and more to be added in the run-up to the event.
The massive music lineup is enhanced by Furtherrr Collective’s presentation of internationally acclaimed psychedelic icon and visionary artist, ALEX GREY, accompanied by an all-star cast of live collaboration painters, Damon Soule and Oliver Vernon. In addition to the trio’s nightly live painting, Alex Grey will give talks on a variety of topics each night of the festival. A wide array of nationally recognized artists, including Des10, will be on-site throughout the event. G & J also provides an opportunity for crystal, mineral, jewelry, and art vendors from across the country to display their wares.
Gem & Jam brings a rich music and art scene to the southwest, gathering like-minded performers and the artistically inclined for a unique experience in beautiful southern Arizona.
